A world-renowned river
The quality of its rapids and the purity of its water make it an internationally renowned river. Leaving the Labrador Plateau, it rushes into the depths of the Canadian Shield, crossing mountains and canyons, before flowing into the salt waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The steep slope of this river gives it a bubbling character, an indescribable beauty with a succession of falls and rapids. Features sought after by whitewater paddlers.
The Magpie River flows through the heart of Minganie and through ours too. We cleared camps there, restored thousand-year-old Innu portages and fished its pools. By visiting frequently for more than twenty years, we have learned to know and love this river. Noryak Aventures offers you the opportunity to get to know this extraordinary river, thanks to a support package including luggage transport, care and preparation of food and organization of the trip. The service offered by Noryak includes equipment transportation on the water by 18-foot catarafts driven by an attendant, full food service, return shuttle, river exit portage logistics, and equipment rental if needed.
Sports trip - Advanced level - experience required
This package is aimed at experienced paddlers who ensure their own safety on the water. The group leader must demonstrate that the group has the technical capabilities to engage in this adventure.
The guides are professional and have excellent knowledge of their river, sites of interest and even good fishing spots.
This trip is offered for private groups of experienced paddlers.
“Why take this service when you are an experienced paddler?”
Rather than spending several days sorting out the logistics of your trip, putting together a group menu and going to the supermarket to order for the whole gang, let go and focus on the pleasure of surfing the waves in a light boat. As a bonus, regional north-coastal dishes will raise the standard of camping food.
